2018 Honda Odyssey: What’s New?
The all new 2018 Honda Odyssey is ready to hit the showroom this summer. It’s more capable and more equipped than ever before, with comfort for 8, new performance features, innovative technology, and available premium amenities. Just a few weeks ago, Honda kick-started production of the new Odyssey in Alabama.
The 2018 Honda Odyssey will feature a 280 horsepower, 3.5L direct-injected i-VTEC V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management. Drivers will be able to choose from two new transmissions-a 9-speed automatic, and for higher trims, an all-new Honda developed 10-speed automatic that offers more confident, refined performance. This transmission is the first of its kind in a minivan.
These new advanced powertrains, along with the Odyssey’s new body design and chassis technology, are expected to provide superior performance, and highly competitive fuel economy ratings. The 2018 Odyssey features Honda’s Intelligent Traction Management system with Normal and Snow modes. Combine this with Agile Handling Assist for a more powerful braking system and improved all-weather traction and control, the 2018 Honda Odyssey will offer outstanding performance.
Of course, when it comes to a minivan, the technology features are also very important. The 2018 Odyssey takes in-vehicle connectivity to a whole new level. The Odyssey’s 8″ high-resolution touchscreen interface serves as a hub for new audio and phone options, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A rear entertainment system with a 10.2″ screen is also available. The other impressive 2018 Odyssey technology features include heated and ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, parking sensors, wireless device charging, and much more.
The interior of the Odyssey has never been more impressive. Honda CabinWatch and CabinTalk make it easier than ever to see and communicate with passengers in the rear seats.
Honda CabinControl gives everyone the opportunity to control the rear temperature, add music to a playlist and even send an address to navigation.
The 2018 Odyssey even offers innovative “Magic Slide” 2nd-Row seats for easier access to the 3rd row on the EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite trim levels.
